Speaker Heastie Statement on Senior Staff Appointment

I am pleased to announce that Rebecca Mudie will serve as counsel to the Majority of the New York State Assembly.

Becca most recently served the Assembly as legislative counsel for Program and Policy. Prior to that, she was director of Intergovernmental Affairs for the New York State Justice Center. She served as interim assistant counsel and interim assistant secretary for Human Services and Mental Hygiene for the New York State Executive Chamber. She started her career in the Assembly working for the Codes Committee and later served as the assistant secretary for Program and Policy for the Health and Human Services portfolio.

She earned a juris doctorate from Suffolk University Law School and a bachelor’s degree from SUNY Albany.
