Agency Mission The Office for the Prevention of Domestic Violence is charged with developing statewide policies, protocols, training and education programs to improve the response of various State and local public agencies to families affected by domestic violence. Its goal is to coordinate the establishment of a comprehensive community response that creates violence free communities. The Office coordinates the implementation of a broad public education program and provides training about domestic violence to judges, prosecutors, police, social services professionals, advocates, employers and health care and mental health providers. Year-to-Year Change The Executive recommends All Funds appropriations of $2,737,600 a net increase of $59,600, or 2.2 percent, over State Fiscal Year 2000-2001. This increase reflects negotiated salary adjustments and rent payments that are offset by savings attributed to a proposal to consolidate routine administrative functions with the Division of Criminal Justice Service through the transfer of one full-time position. Legislative Changes The Assembly makes no changes to the Executive's proposal. |
